I often get asked what are the most popular style of food for Wedding Catering in Leicester and the surrounding areas.
In my humble opinion, Wedding Catering is heading down a more relaxed, informal path. There are (loosely speaking) 3 styles of service – read more about them here, I have more couples than ever requesting BBQ catering, sharing food platters and less traditional international dishes.
This fashion for more varied menu choices at weddings suits me perfectly – I operate a Menu U package. There is no set menus to choose from. Between us, we create your perfect menu; suitable for your venue, your budget, your theme and your favourite foods. Three of my favourite’s options for Wedding Catering in Leicester are listed below…
3 Creative Ideas for Wedding Catering in Leicester
- Street Food – whether it’s Hummus Wraps, Ultimate Burgers, Tommy’s Tortillas, Paella or Tacos; street food is not only en vogue, it’s yummy! This is a great idea for couples who love the thought of wedding catering that reminds you of your travels or holidays together. It was the perfect, personalised menu option for Alex and Kirsty. Their Wedding Catering told their story and they had lots of delicious ‘Street Food’ style canapés to start their feast. They had Dutch Street Food -Krockett and Dutch style Herring (for Alex, who is Dutch) and French Fries with Mayonnaise (as he grew up in France). This was accompanied with Vietnamese Pork with Mint and Chilli to remind them of the fond memories they have from their trip to Vietnam.
- Build Your Own – This style of Wedding Catering is especially favourable with desserts. Think Ice Cream Factory, but fancy. I love creating amazing Ice Cream Sundaes or Panacotta’s, served up with all your favourite treats… Honeycombs Pieces, Nuts, Jelly Beans, Fresh Summer Berries, Chocolate Sauce, Mixed Fruits, Fudge, Raspberry Coulis… The list is endless!
- Sharing Food – this is one of my favourites because it’s a great conversation starter/ice breaker for any guests who aren’t familiar with each other. It’s relaxed, informal and you have (almost) limitless options as to what you want to serve up. Platters of antipasti are a great start – Local Cheeses, Delicious Fresh Baked Breads, Roasted Meats, Cured Fish and Fresh Salad Vegetables, all served on great big platters. Another nice idea for sharing style wedding catering is having smaller portions of all your favourite dishes, served as bowl foods.
