Helen and mike
Helen and Mike came to me last year, they really didn’t know what they wanted all they knew was that they didn’t want the traditional sit down affair for their wedding breakfast, added to that they wanted it to be fun (my eyes light up when a couple that want exciting food it’s right up my street) The plans they had in place were to have a Tipi on Helens family farm in Queniborough, Leicestershire.
We had great fun too building this Pimms station at the entrance of the tipi, and what worked really well was all the fruit being cut long and chunky or left whole so it was much easier to eat once the pimms was finished. I will be repeating this again!
After delving a little further into what this lovely couple ate regularly and what they enjoyed the most we decided that they didn’t need to choose one specific thing for their guests to eat but instead to have multiple choices so that there was definitely going to be something for everyone!
Their menu looked like this:
Yorkshire pudding filled with Braised beef steak.
Chorizo & basil aranchini, basil mayonnaise
Dolcelatte and fig bruscetta fine herbs and balsamic dressing
Smoked haddock and chive fish cake, lemon mayonnaise
Hoi sin duck pancakes cucmber and spring onions.
The mixed up bowls!
Fish Taco, guacamole and lime salsa.
Pork roasted with ginger, Mango, pineapple, bean sprout and noodle salad.
Cheese burger with the works, swiss cheese, gerkins and burger sauce
Halloumi and Mediterranean vegetable skewer served on cumin scented cabbage slaw.
Thai green Chicken curry & steamed basmati rice
Build your own Sundae
Strawberry, chocolate and vanilla ice cream served with sprinkles, chocolate sauce, nuts and rasins covered in chocolate, meringue pieces, jelly tots, candied pecans, brownie bits cigarette wafers. And a can of squirty cream on each table.
Coffee, tea & hot chocolate station.
Fish and chips and mushy peas!
served in cones for the evening buffet
The dessert was a little different to the norm as we created a whacky warehouse style build your own sundae at the, table fully equipped with a can of spray cream which did get a little out of hand with a few tipsy guests ( there is always one table)
All the guests had great fun and truly enjoyed their meal, then the dancing began but we weren’t finished just yet ! Oh no! We had fish and chips to fry! Served in cones during the bands interval we served it up to Helen & Mikes wedding guests and extra evening guests a fish and chip bonanza!
